There is not much a City Council can do to lower everyday costs, but the one thing they can do is reduce your taxes. Sean is the first candidate for City Council to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, committing to keeping your taxes low. Sean also plans to cut the Public Service Tax, a 7% on your utility bill. This tax cut will be a tax cut for EVERYONE: homeowners, renters, and businesses alike.

As our city inevitably grows, we need a City Council that will make sure Cape Coral does not become another Miami or Tampa. Whether you were raised here like Sean was or moved here to get away from where you once were, Cape Coral is a unique city that we want to preserve. Sean is committed to growing our city in a way that is #UniquelyCapeCoral, keeping the family-friendly community lifestyle that we all know and love.

Whether its our miles of unique canals, our mangroves that protect our borders, our unique burrowing owl and gopher tortoise neighbors, or the wonderful natural locations like Four Mile Cove or Yellow Fever Creek that dot our city, Sean is committed to protecting Cape Coral's beautiful natural environment and will oppose overdevelopment of our natural areas and expanding green spaces as we continue to grow. Sean will also codify the Joe Petrella Rule (named after Parks Director Joe Petrella, who proposed it), requiring larger developers to help fund neighborhood parks in the areas they are developing.

There are more than 1,000 codes in the Cape Coral Code. That is way too many rules imposed on our residents and businesses. It is no surprise that even with personnel reforms, there are still problems and complaints with permitting. Sean is committed to taking a chainsaw to excessive regulations. Permitting in particular needs a complete overhaul. Certain permits should be eliminated or combined and rules on individual permits must be streamlined and modernized, with unnecessary permit regulations being cut completely. If a rule is not protecting public safety, city property, or neighborhood quality of life, then it shouldn't be in the Code.

Traffic is one of the biggest issues our city faces and yet every candidate offers the same solution: build more roads. Improving our roads are important, but multiple studies have shown that building and expanding roads creates a Field of Dreams problem. If you build more roads, you get more drivers on the roads. That does not solve your traffic problems!
The solution is to reduce the amount of cars on the roads through convenient, affordable, and fiscally responsible alternatives. This includes bike routes and public transportation. Sean has long been an advocate to expanding alternatives to transportation to reduce traffic congestion while remaining fiscally responsible with our tax dollars.

Cape Coral is one of the safest cities in the country and that is because of our wonderful first responders. Sean will make sure the CCPD and CCFD have the resources, personnel, and training they need to keep themselves and our communities safe.
As the only working-class candidate running his district, Sean stands with the everyday city employee who works hard to keep Cape Coral running, protecting the benefits that they earned, and making sure they are taken care of and respected. Cuts to city staff must be focused on top-heavy management, not the everyday worker.

The Cape Coral City Council is a nonpartisan race, meaning EVERYONE can vote for Sean regardless of party. Even though Sean is openly and publicly conservative and firm on his principles, he is committed to listening and serving all the residents of Cape Coral regardless of political ideology or affiliation. Sean believes we can disagree respectfully while trying to find common ground on the best solutions for our city. The People of Cape Coral deserve nothing less from their Councilmembers.
