Sean's family moved to Cape Coral, Florida from Texas in 1994 when he was only three years old. Sean grew up in Cape Coral, spending his childhood at the Bill Austen Youth Center, his weekends at the Yacht Club pool, playing mini-golf at Mike Greenwell's, or riding the slides at Sun Splash...and Sean keenly remembers when he was finally 48 inches and could ride Cape Fear by himself (IYKYK). Sean grew up with the City of Cape Coral, and as the city continues to grow, he is committed to keeping it Uniquely Cape Coral.
Sean Hartman is not like most people you see running for City Council. He is not a realtor or developer (not that there is anything wrong with those professions). Sean spent his professional career in customer service, solving people's problems and addressing their concerns with kindness, dignity, and respect. It is that customer service experience that Sean wants to bring to the City Council.
Sean is also a serial volunteer, having given his time and talents to organizations and causes such as the Cape Coral Caring Center, the Southwest Florida Military Museum & Library, the Brotherhood of Heroes Museum, Braver Angels, and St. Vincent de Paul's Walk for the Poor. Sean also served as Chairman of the Cape Coral Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Board, which recommends funding allocations for a variety of nonprofits benefiting Cape Coral residents.
In 2021, Sean set up Cape Coral Council Watch, a nonprofit media outlet that covered City Council activities, giving him the insights and knowledge on how the City Government works. Unlike other candidates, Sean won't having a learning curve when elected. He is ready on DAY ONE to serve the People of Cape Coral.
